First the Blackberry is usually free with our current signup program and we are committed to contiuing the policy of working with the telcos to provide these devices and very low prices when not free. Keep in mind that the big trend is smart phones. Even Microsoft has recognized they need to make their software run on smaller and smaller consumer oriented phones. Kids today want an MP3 player, a camera, Instant Messanging, Internet Browsing, picture viewing, games, etc all on thier phone. Ever heard of the Sidekick? RADAR is getting a jump on this trend.
Radar is also not a solution to repair poor communication between parents and their children. It is a tool to help parents monitor and stay connected to their child's life. Remember RADAR is designed for children between the ages of 8 and 14 although many subscribers have older children using the service.
RADAR has built into its software anti-hacking capability. I do not want to explain in detail how it works but it does work. If any hacking happens we send an alert to the parent as well as notification to our network which automatically resets the device to the proper state.
While we cannot guarantee this product is hack proof we have created formidable barriers with plenty of checks and balances in place for the parent.
